Become a KACA Member Today!
As a nonprofit organization, KACA relies entirely on the generosity and commitment of its members to carry out its mission. Membership dues directly support KACA’s core operational functions, including organizing academic conference sessions, providing research grants and scholarships, and supporting graduate student initiatives. These activities are only possible because of the collective contributions of our community.
If you would like to check your membership status or have any other questions about membership, please contact the membership director, Dr. Won-Ki Moon at wonkimoon@ufl.edu. If you have any general questions or suggestions for us, please contact Dr. Yeonsoo Kim at yeonsoo.kim@utexas.edu.
The KACA’s newly updated fiscal year runs from May 1 to April 30. This change aligns membership benefits with the academic calendar, ensuring that a year-long membership covers all four annual conferences:

ICA (May/June)
-
AEJMC (August)
-
NCA (November)
-
KACA (April)
Membership Benefit #1
KACA members are invited to attend conference business meetings, social gatherings, and networking dinners held at ICA, NCA, AEJMC, and the KACA Annual Conference.
Membership Benefit #2
KACA members receive exclusive access to job openings and grant opportunities through the organization’s internal listserv.
Membership Benefit #3
It supports inclusive networking among graduate students, junior and senior faculty, researchers, scholars, and communication professionals, fostering intercultural exchange of knowledge and meaningful dialogue to advance the field.

Membership Fee Adjustments
In addition to the date change, membership fees will be adjusted effective September 1st, 2024. However, a grace period is in effect until end-August, allowing members who have not yet renewed to do so at the current rates. Memberships renewed before/during this grace period will be valid until the end of April 2025. If you renewed your membership earlier this year, your membership will be valid until the end of next year (extending your membership by four months).
New Membership Fees (Effective September 1):
-
Student: $25 (previously $20)
-
Regular: $40 (previously $30)
-
Prime: $65 (previously $50)
-
Silver: $95 (previously $75)
-
Gold: $120 (previously $100)
-
Platinum: $235 (previously $200 minimum)
-
Lifetime: $900 (previously $800)
Additional membership fees, for those beyond the “Regular Member” level, provide enhanced support for KACA’s core mission. These funds are vital in nurturing the next generation of communication scholars through graduate student initiatives and sustaining our recently launched flagship publication, the Korean Journal of Communication. Your generous contributions ensure the continued success of KACA and its valuable programs.
